Kirklees Sheep Sculptures See the Light as Part of Lumiere in Durham
Ten sheep sculptures are to be exhibited at this year’s Lumiere, the UK’s light art biennial, which takes place in Durham from 16-19 November. Last seen at HERD, Orlando Gough’s musical artwork was a part of Kirklees Year of Music, the sculptures were 32 sheep that broadcast soundscapes across the Kirklees landscape in July 2023.

Deighton Sports Arena Sees Closure Date Extended as Campaigns Continue
It has been announced that the Deighton Sports Arena will not be shutting its doors this month as initially expected.
Instead, the leisure centre is set to remain operational until March of next year, with the possibility of further extension until May, according to a recent update on Kirklees Active Leisure’s (KAL) website.

What to Expect in December:
Kirklees Local Television will continue to cover local news stories in the area and showcase the rich diversity of Kirklees and the stories that represent the communities of the region.
On Friday 1st December, Kirklees Local Television filmed the ‘Huddersfeast Night Market‘ and is currently editing the video for release across all platforms. So make sure to keep an eye out for that video.
Also, Kirklees Local Television will be hosting a Creative Writing Workshop on Thursday 14th December.
