A team of grab hire drivers will tackle the gruelling Total Warrior challenge. The challenge is hosted by the great Northern Mud Run at Braham Park on 11 July.
Tadcaster based RJC Plant Services Ltd are taking on the challenge in support of Hollybank Trust. They will wade through 100 tons of mud over a 12k route of 25 tough obstacles.
The firm surpassed their target to raise over £500 and have already attracted £600 in donations for the charity. They hope to be able to double their original goal by the challenge on Sunday.
The team chose Hollybank in support of Joshua, nephew of one of the RJC drivers, Mark Williams. Joshua sustained severe brain injuries as a baby and has been living at Hollybank for the last seven years.
A vital lifeline
Mark said: “The support Hollybank has given Joshua and our family, especially his dad and step-mum, has been lifesaving.
“Joshua can’t talk or walk, eat, see or hear properly however the team at Hollybank provide amazing 24-hour care, support and activities, making the most of every day for Joshua and all the other children, young people and adults who live there.
“The setting is beautiful with brilliant facilities that makes the world of difference to so many families. Any help we can give to them, after such a difficult year of hardly any fundraising activity so they can continue providing such a vital lifeline, would be amazing.”

John Howard, Hollybank’s Community Ambassador added: “We’re delighted with the support from the RJC team and wish them all good luck completing the challenge! It has been a difficult time as many of our charity fundraising events have been postponed so this support is really appreciated.”
RJC Plant Services are known for their community support and charity fundraising. In the past they have raised funds for the mental health charity, The Lighthouse Trust, donated 1000 meals to two dog rescue centres, and gifted 50 afternoon teas to the elderly residents of their local village in the last year alone.
Co-owner and director Chris Jackson said:
“After hearing about Joshua’s story and the work Hollybank do to help so many families, we absolutely wanted to use this opportunity to raise as much money as we can for them. No man will be left behind, so I hope the rest of the guys are ready to get muddy and take on the challenge!”
