Aden View Care Home in Kirklees recently hosted a Pink Party to raise funds for seven-year-old Eden Smith.
Eden and her family are fighting against a rare form of children’s cancer called Neuroblastoma in 2021. The treatment needed to stop the cancer from returning isn’t available in the UK and her family is raising funds to save up for the treatment abroad.

The care home raised an amazing £1,100, which will go towards the £300,000 required for Eden to receive treatment in the USA.
The staff and residents donated over £280, the remainder of the donation was raised by various games. Michelle Bevan, the mother of the care home’s manager, organised a raffle and tombola.

Turn Kirklees Punk for Eden day
The fundraiser was part of the ‘Turn Kirklees Pink for Eden day’; the care home included an array of party food and even a pink birthday cake. All the staff and residents gathered to sing happy birthday to Eden as part of the Kirklees-wide fundraising.
Kim Mckay, home manager at Aden View Care Home, said: “It is so important that as much money as possible is raised for Eden’s fight against cancer, as it will go towards the treatment she needs.
“Everyone at the care home wanted to do their bit and join in with the rest of Kirklees for the fundraising day. We’re so pleased to see she is getting closer to her target of £300,000.”
