The RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield, Bradford & District Branch are opening their doors for the first time in over 18 months.
On Sunday, 15 August, The RSPCA is hosting their ‘Super Small Animals Open Day’. The RSPCA Animal Centre on Wade Street, Halifax, opening from 12 – 3pm.
This year the branch has rehomed 56 dogs, 135 cats and 36 small animals. The charities main aim is to rehabilitate unwanted, abandoned and abused animals and find them loving, permanent homes
Meet the Residents
The day is open to the local community to go and meet the charity’s small residents. Visitors can join in with the day’s activities such as stalls, games and cattery tours. The day’s activities will help raise vital funds for the centre. The local Animal Centre is self-funded and needs a boost after a tough year.
Digital Fundraiser, Fay Gibbons, said, “We can’t wait to open our doors and see all of our fabulous supporters in person again this August 15th! We’ve got lots of fun planned for the day with stalls, games and even the chance to meet some of the furry friends we have looking for homes.
“It’s been a tough year for us as a charity with all the restrictions and lockdowns – but we’re so grateful that things are starting to open up again and we can hold events with our amazing supporters!’’
There will be cattery tours taking place between 12:30 -1:30pm and the small animal unit will be open between 1:00pm – 2:00pm only.
The charity asks that you turn up at these times if you would like a mini tour of these animal centre areas.
